Airness is a music-filled, feel good, comedy about finding your joy. Featuring fun air guitar performances to hit 1980s rock songs by Joan Jett, Pat Benatar, REO Speedwagon, Billy Idol, and more.

Characters infuse their competitive-air-guitar performances with heartfelt exuberance, frequently smashing their imaginary instruments on the floor in a climactic frenzy. The strutting, jumping mock-concert sequences are droll and engrossing. They also help the play reflect on the nature and purpose of art, illustrating the exhilaration that can come from creating something out of nothing.

The show walks the audience through more than just the mechanics and aesthetics of air guitar competitions. This is not a piece where you need to lean in to catch subtleties or subtext. ...You sit back and forget the world while friends banter and glitter explodes.

The eccentric yet heartfelt characters, the physical antics, a good dose of rock music and the feel-good story — with some romantic heartbreak — make for great fun...

Anyone with winter blues to shake off will find plenty of laughs in the dialogue — and downright delight in watching these characters trying to impress a set of judges grading them on nothing more than their ability to be moved by music.
