Submit a Play
Please email the first 10-pages of your play, a link to your New Play Exchange profile, a synopsis, and character breakdown to Artistic Director, Cristina Alicea, at:  [email protected].

Please note: plays that have more than 8 actors will not be considered for production. Musicals with more than 6 actors will not be considered. Please also include number of musicians needed for orchestra.

We are currently hiring our Production Team for our upcoming season. We are looking for Stage Managers, Assistant Stage Managers, Scenic Assistants, Lighting Designers, Costume Designers, and Sound Designers.

Join our Crew
Vermont Stage is seeking folks to join our Production Crew. If you are interested in helping hang lights, build sets, and work with sound equipment, please feel free to apply. No experience necessary. All hands-on training will be provided. $18 per hour plus free tickets to shows.

Become a Volunteer Usher
If you want to volunteer to help seat patrons and see our shows for free, just email Gail Deuso, Administrative Coordinator, at [email protected] and let us know you're interested in helping. We'll add you to the Usher email roster.
Become a Volunteer Intern
If you are a current college student or recent grad, you can become an intern. Send a cover letter and resume to [email protected] ​and we will consider you. College credit can be provided.

Our Fall internships begin in September and and run through December. Applications for Fall internships are accepted through August 15th.

Winter internships begin in January and run through May. Applications for Winter internships are accepted through December 1st.
Donate Equipment or Office Supplies
We are always looking for donated items like office supplies (paper, envelopes, printers, computers), theatre lighting and sound equipment, and costumes.

Box Office & Front of House Staff
$18/hour + 2 comp tickets per show

This role is perfect for someone who wants to support the arts, see our productions for free, and work in a warm, welcoming environment with a great team.
 
About the Role
As a Box Office & Front of House Staff member, you’ll be the first face patrons see when they arrive—and the last before they leave. You’ll help us deliver a smooth, positive experience for every audience member, while making sure things run safely and efficiently behind the scenes.
 
Responsibilities
  • Greet and assist patrons with warmth, kindness, and professionalism
  • Sell and distribute tickets using our ticketing software (we’ll train you!)
  • Follow Vermont Stage’s box office and front of house policies, including accessibility protocols
  • Arrange theatre seating and ensure the lobby is tidy and welcoming
  • Train and support volunteer ushers during each performance
  • Complete daily Front of House/Box Office reports
  • Help load in and load out lightweight lobby furniture as needed
 
You’re a Great Fit If You…
  • Are calm under pressure and love taking care of people
  • Enjoy being part of a team and taking initiative
  • Have solid organizational skills and can multitask with ease
  • Are comfortable with basic computer tasks (Word, Excel, etc.) and open to learning our ticketing system
  • Have an interest in the arts—especially theatre! (A love for Vermont Stage is a plus.)
 
Time & Compensation
  • Pay: $18/hour
  • Perks: 2 complimentary tickets per production
  • Schedule: Based on our performance calendar and your availability
  • Evenings: Wed–Sun, approx. 5:30–10:00pm
  • Matinees: Sat–Sun, approx. 12:00–4:30pm
