Please note: plays that have more than 8 actors will not be considered for production. Musicals with more than 6 actors will not be considered. Please also include number of musicians needed for orchestra.

Box Office Staff positions available. Here is the job description and how to apply below.

Purpose of the Position:
To act as the principal point of welcome to Vermont Stage and to offer great customer service to our beloved patrons.

Duties:
Here is a list of some of the basic tasks associated to this position:

  • Be a good representative of Vermont Stage by acting with kindness and professionalism at all times. 
  • Follow Vermont Stage's front of house and box office policies and protocols, including our accessibility requirements.
  • Set up the seating in the theatre and ensure the lobby is neat and organized.
  • Ensure the Ushers are doing their jobs and train them, as needed.
  • Fill out the Front of House/Box Office Daily Reports.
  • Help with the load-ins and load-outs of the lobby furniture, which may involve some lifting and carrying of lightweight furniture.
  • Learn and utilize our ticketing software to sell and disperse tickets to patrons. 

Desired Skills:
​We are seeking someone:
  • Who is a self-starter and enjoys being a team member. 
  • Who can be calm and collected under pressure, has a welcoming manner, and wants to take good care of our patrons. 
  • Who has a keen interest in the arts. A love for Vermont Stage is a plus.
  • Who has good organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Who is comfortable with basic computer skills, like Microsoft programs, and has a willingness to learn our ticketing software program called AudienceView.

Time and Compensation:
  • Work hours are based on our performance dates and based around your availability, but they are typically Wednesday through Saturday evenings from 5:30pm to 10pm and Saturdays and Sundays during the day from 12:00pm to 4:30pm. 
  • Pay is $18 per hour with 2 comp tickets per production.

Join our Crew
Vermont Stage is seeking folks to join our production crew team. If you are interested in helping and/or learning how to hang lights, build sets, and work with sound equipment, please feel free to apply. No experience necessary. All training will be provided. $18 per hour plus free tickets to shows.

We are currently hiring production staff for our upcoming season. We are looking primarily for Assistant Stage Managers, Scenic Assistants, Lighting Designers, and Sound Designers.

Become a Volunteer Usher
If you want to volunteer to help seat patrons and see our shows for free, just email Gail Deuso, Administrative Coordinator, at [email protected] and let us know you're interested in helping. We'll add you to the Usher email roster.
Become a Volunteer Intern
If you are a current college student or recent grad, you can become an intern. Send a cover letter and resume to [email protected] ​and we will consider you.

Our Fall internships begin in September and and run through December. Applications for Fall internships are accepted through August 15th.

Winter internships begin in January and run through May. Applications for Winter internships are accepted through December 1st.
Donate Equipment or Office Supplies
We are always looking for donated items like office supplies, computers, theatre lighting and sound equipment, and costumes. 

​Please email [email protected]  with the items you are thinking about donating and we'll let you know if we can take them off your hands. In exchange we will give you a letter for a tax write off.
