Laura Roald

Laura Roald is a Canadian theatre artist whose work has appeared on stages across North America for the past twenty-eight years. Recent directing credits include Hair (Polaris Performance Company), Unburn Me (Polaris Performance Company), The Suffragist’s Reenactment Society (Complications Company), Macbeth (NVU Johnson) Nine (NVU Johnson), Other Mothers (24 Hour Playwriting Event, Complications Company) Making Babies and Other Complications (Complications Company), Noh Mom (Complications Company) Memory Palace (Full Circle Festival) and After Mrs Rochester (Alumnae Theatre). Upcoming projects include The Thanksgiving Play (Polaris Performance Company), Airness (Vermont Stage) and Begin Again (Watcher Theatre). She co-founded and is artistic co-director of Complications Company, a new work development company in Burlington. Laura holds an MFA in Directing from the University of Alberta, serves as board president of Off Center for the Dramatic Arts in Burlington, and is a member of Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas. She loves teaching both studio (acting, directing, design) and academic courses at Northern Vermont University-Johnson as part time faculty of Performing Arts.
