Tara Lee Downs (Director)

Tara Lee Downs is glad to be working with Vermont Stage again after having directed their past productions of 'Art' and Good People. Tara is a freelance director, stage manager, and youth drama teacher who is excited to have recently moved back to Vermont from NYC. In Vermont, she was a resident artist, director, stage manager, and Education Coordinator for Lost Nation Theater Company in Montpelier. She has also directed professionally for Lost Nation Theater, Green Candle Theatre Company, Off Center for the Dramatic Arts, and Saints & Poets Production Company. She has stage managed over 40 theatre, music, and dance productions, teaches youth theatre, and had the great pleasure of attending the Lincoln Center 2012 Directors Lab program. Tara studied performance art and theatre education at Goddard College and graduated from Davis & Elkins College with a B.A. in Theatre Arts. She is also an actor, clown, and mother. She is originally from Canaan Valley, West Virginia.
