Patti Casey

Native Vermonter Patti Casey grew up in Vergennes, the tiny town that proudly proclaimed itself, “The Smallest City in the USA.” She began playing flute in middle school and discovered her talent for songwriting in college, along with her considerable set of pipes. Decades later, she is a nationally recognized, award-winning songwriter who has influenced many other songwriters.
Patti was a founding member, songwriter, and lead singer for Vermont’s beloved Bluegrass Gospel
Project. She later spent nearly a decade touring nationally with legendary folk ensemble Woods Tea Company. She now performs regularly with a couple of small acoustic bands.
Patti has produced five solo recordings, mostly her own material and supported by a roster of stellar musical pals that demonstrates her love of collaboration. She has backed countless other New England musicians’ recordings, done movie soundtrack work, songwriting workshops, and theatrical musical direction. She has played on A Prairie Home Companion and several main stages at nationally acclaimed festivals. Patti holds a BA in Writing from VT College of Fine Arts and lives in Montpelier VT, the Smallest State Capitol in the USA.
