Michael Fidler (he/him)
Mike trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama before enjoying a 25 year career in London’s theatre and high-end event industries. He has worked as a Director, Producer, Designer, Technical Manager (and many other roles) in venues as diverse as the Old Vic, the Royal Albert Hall, the Tate Modern and indeed Buckingham Palace. One of his highlights was directing and producing the original production of the cult musical, Saucy Jack and the Space Vixens, at the Edinburgh Festival, which he went on to direct numerous times over the years, including housing it in a bespoke immersive venue under London Bridge, as well as in the West End. It has since been performed hundreds of times around the world. Since moving to Vermont with his family, Mike has directed Mamma Mia! for Lyric Theatre at the Flynn, as well as their pandemic holiday special, Miracle on Green Tree Drive. He also directed a production of Saucy Jack and the Space Vixens at ArtsRiot, and most recently, The Comedy of Errors for Vermont Repertory Theatre. He is delighted to be working with Vermont Stage, especially on True West, which he directed in college and which has always remained one of his great theatrical memories.
