Janine Woods Thoma (Scenic Designer)
Janine hails from Ann Arbor, Michigan, where she earned a theatre degree and her first industry stripes, designing and tech directing for the much lauded Performance Network Theatre, Williamston Theater, and the brand new New Theatre Project. Her favorite designs from this era included boom, It Came From Mars, and If You Start a Fire, Be Prepared to Burn. Janine realized she needed some mountains in her life, and recently moved to Vermont following an insane two year world trip. Currently she works as Technical Director with Lost Nation Theater and as a freelance stagehand everywhere else, wasting away her precious free hours climbing rocks and dancing. She just began work for the inaugural production with the Upstream Artist Collective in Brooklyn, attempting a waste-free set and lighting design. She is elated to have been asked to join this amazing team on this powerful show, and hopes the set will help it to dance.
