Here is a list of some of the basic tasks associated to this position:
- Be a good representative of Vermont Stage by acting with kindness and professionalism at all times.
- Follow Vermont Stage's front of house and box office policies and protocols, including our accessibility requirements.
- Set up the seating in the theatre and ensure the lobby is neat and organized.
- Ensure the Ushers are doing their jobs and train them, as needed.
- Fill out the Front of House/Box Office Daily Reports.
- Help with the load-ins and load-outs of the lobby furniture, which may involve some lifting and carrying of lightweight furniture.
- Learn and utilize our ticketing software to sell and disperse tickets to patrons.
DESIRED SKILLS:
We are seeking someone:
- Who is a self-starter and enjoys being a team member.
- Who can be calm and collected under pressure, has a welcoming manner, and wants to take good care of our patrons.
- Who has a keen interest in the arts. A love for Vermont Stage is a plus.
- Who has good organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Who is comfortable with basic computer skills, like Microsoft programs, and has a willingness to learn our ticketing software program called AudienceView.
TIME AND COMPENSATION:
- Work hours are based on our performance dates and based around your availability, but they are typically Wednesday through Saturday evenings from 5:30pm to 10pm and Saturdays and Sundays during the day from 12:00pm to 4:30pm.
- Pay is $17 per hour with 2 comp tickets per production.

Master Electrician
Vermont Stage is seeking a skilled and experienced Master Electrician to join our dynamic team. As Master Electrician, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of theatrical lighting systems, ensuring the seamless execution of lighting designs for live performances. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining and troubleshooting lighting equipment, collaborating with production teams, and ensuring the safety and efficiency of electrical systems within the theater.

Vermont Stage is seeking a skilled and experienced Master Electrician to join our dynamic team. As Master Electrician, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of theatrical lighting systems, ensuring the seamless execution of lighting designs for live performances. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining and troubleshooting lighting equipment, collaborating with production teams, and ensuring the safety and efficiency of electrical systems within the theater.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with directors, lighting designers, and production teams to understand and interpret lighting design requirements for various performances.
- Provide valuable input on the technical feasibility and practicality of lighting designs.
- Supervise and help execute the installation, programming, and operation of lighting equipment. according to design specifications.
- Ensure the proper functioning of dimming systems, control consoles, and all related electrical components.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues promptly, implementing solutions to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with the Production Manager and facilities for the timely repair or replacement of faulty equipment.
- Enforce and adhere to safety protocols and regulations related to electrical systems and equipment.
- Conduct safety briefings for the lighting crew and ensure the proper use of safety gear and equipment.
- Lead a team of lighting technicians, providing guidance and support.
- Facilitate training sessions to enhance the skills of the lighting crew.
- Oversee the inventory of lighting supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Collaborate with the Production Manager to plan and procure necessary resources for upcoming productions.
Qualifications:
- Experience as a Master Electrician in a professional theatrical setting.
- Extensive knowledge of theatrical lighting equipment, control systems, and rigging techniques.
- Proficient in programming and operating lighting consoles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams.
Additional Requirements:
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, based on production schedules.
- Physical ability to lift and move lighting equipment.
- Familiarity with current trends and advancements in theatrical lighting technology.

If you are interested in helping and/or learning how to hang lights, build sets, and work with sound equipment, please feel free to apply. No experience necessary. All training will be provided. $15 per hour plus free tickets to shows.
