The Imaginators
by Dwayne Hartford
directed by Laura Roald
November 22 and 23, 2025 at Off Center for the Dramatic Arts
Saturday & Sunday Matinees at 11am
When siblings Anne and Tim move to a new town, Anne wants to seem older—and wants nothing to do with her little brother. Then the next-door neighbor appears: the fabulous Nina Frances Elizabeth Vanderhelden, master of make-believe. With moving boxes and odds-and-ends from the garage, Nina launches the trio into an epic adventure where they outwit the child-eating Mooklecratz, discover hidden bravery, and learn how much stronger they are together. By the end, Anne, Tim, and Nina remind us that imagination isn’t just play—it’s a powerful tool for facing fears, making friends, and seeing ourselves anew, and it invites kids and adults never to lose their sense of play and creativity. This play includes a brief meet and greet with the actors in costume after the show!
Ideal for children ages 5 to 11. Running time: 45 minutes plus optional 15 minute meet and greet after the play. Themes: friendship, courage, creativity, cooperation. This children's play will be performed at The Off Center for the Dramatic Arts. Seating is limited.

PICK YOUR PRICE TICKETS"Pick Your Price" tickets are geared towards making our plays more accessible to all. When purchasing a ticket, you'll be given three different price options. Please choose the ticket price that makes the most sense for you – based on what you can afford and how you'd like to show your support. ENCORE TICKET PRICE - $30 When you buy this ticket, you help underwrite our shows by paying closer to the actual price it costs per seat to produce our plays. You also help increase access for other community members so they can attend our shows, too. BRAVO TICKET PRICE - $25 This represents our standard price for a ticket and this is what we recommend you buy if you've been to our shows before. APPLAUSE TICKET PRICE - $20 This is our entry level price for patrons who want to try attending a show for the first time. It's also for those who feel that the other prices are outside their budget this year. We've also eliminated transaction fees, so you can purchase online, over the phone, or in person without an extra charge. Pick Your Price FAQsWhy “Pick Your Price” Pricing?
Over the years, we've noticed our pricing hasn't worked for everyone. Some patrons can comfortably afford our tickets while others have found our pricing a challenge. So, we've decided to take action! We're instituted a new ticket model called "Pick Your Price” which aims to increase access so more folks can come to our shows and experience live theatre. Which Ticket Should I Buy?
We encourage you to purchase the "Bravo Price” ticket which starts at $25, and is typically what we charge for our shows. If you are able, we hope you'll consider purchasing an “Encore Price” ticket which starts at $30. You'll be creating opportunities for more patrons to attend, while supporting the artists and staff who make Vermont Stage possible. If neither of these options work for you, no problem! We've also created an "Applause Price” ticket which starts at $20 and is the lowest price ticket available. We're so grateful to have you attend a Vermont Stage show! Why Should I Buy an Encore Price Ticket?
It costs a lot more to produce our plays than what we charge at the box office. In fact, if we were to charge our actual costs to attend, we'd need to charge each audience member $54 per seat! When you're an "Encore Price" Ticket Buyer, you're helping us recoup some of our costs. You're also supporting the attendance of patrons who may not be able to afford standard prices, providing an opportunity for more people to experience live theatre! Thanks for supporting our community, and our theatre, in this way! |
