by Lauren Gunderson
March 19-April 5, 2026

Two brilliant women. One seaside refuge. A friendship that changed everything.
In the wake of a public scandal, renowned physicist Marie Curie retreats to a coastal cottage with her dear friend and fellow scientist Hertha Ayrton. Set in 1912, this luminous and empowering play explores the resilience of friendship, the brilliance of scientific minds, and the strength it takes to stand tall in a world determined to tear you down.

Rhinoceros
by Eugène Ionesco
April 30-May 17, 2026

In a town gripped by chaos, the herd is growing—and reason is on the run.

It’s fast, fun, and full of creative surprises.

Over the past two years, we’ve embraced a “Pick Your Price” subscription model to make theatre more accessible for everyone in our community. We know that while some can easily afford standard prices, others may need more flexibility—so we invite you to choose the option that works best for your budget. It’s our way of welcoming more people into the joy of live theatre, and we’re deeply grateful to everyone who’s helped make this model a success.

We recommend the Bravo Subscription at $149 (just $37.25 per ticket for four shows)—our traditional flexipass price and a great value compared to single tickets.

If you’re able to give a little more, consider the Encore Subscription at $209 ($52.25 per ticket). Your generosity helps keep theatre accessible to others while supporting the artists and staff who bring our work to life.

Need a more budget-friendly option? Go with the Applause Subscription at $119 ($29.75 per ticket). No matter which you choose, we’re thrilled to have you in the Vermont Stage family!

Encore Subscription - $209.00
When you buy this package, you help underwrite our shows by paying closer to the actual price it costs per seat to produce our plays. You also help increase access for other community members so they can attend our shows, too.

Bravo Subscription - $149.00
This package represents our standard price for subscriptions and includes a discount from single ticket prices.

Applause Subscription - $119.00
This subscription package is our entry level price for patrons who want to try subscribing for the first time. It's also for those who feel that the other subscription prices are outside their budget this year.

Questions? Please email vtstage@vermontstage.org or call our office during our box office hours (M-F, 11am-3pm) at 802-862-1497. We'd be happy to answer any questions you have and help place your order over the phone.
WHY SUBSCRIBE?
Subscriptions are the lifeblood of Vermont Stage. Think of them like a CSA for the arts: by subscribing, you’re investing in the creative process before the shows go on stage—helping us cover the upfront costs of production and pay our artists while we’re still in rehearsal. In return, you get a discount on regular ticket prices and the satisfaction of knowing you're supporting local theatre when it matters most.

WHAT SHOULD I PAY TO SUBSCRIBE?
That’s up to you. Our Pick Your Price model is designed to reflect the ups and downs of real life—we know your financial situation might change from year to year. If you're in a position to subscribe at a higher level, we hope you will. If not, no worries—we want you here. Choose the price that feels right for you, and come experience the full season with us.

WHY CHOOSE THE ENCORE SUBSCRIPTION?
Because producing theatre costs far more than we charge at the box office. If we priced tickets to reflect our true costs, they’d be around $84 per seat! By subscribing at the Encore level, you help bridge that gap—supporting our artists, our productions, and patrons who can’t afford full-price tickets. It’s a powerful way to champion both theatre and community.
